That’s because Mason has been involved in the music scene since the 1960s and has had plenty of time to record with many prominent musicians. His own start in music came when he co-founded the band Traffic in 1966-67, though he left the band after the release of their debut album and retained an on-again/off-again relationship with them through 1971.

As a solo artist, Mason released a total of 11 album between 1970 and 1987. His most recent album was released following a whopping 21-year break, during which time he recorded a handful of live albums, compilations and singles.

Mason continues to tour nearly year-round, and has several U.S. shows coming up this summer including performances at Detroit’s Rockin on the Riverfront on July 9; Belly Up Aspen (Colo.) on July 19; and Ramshead in Annapolis, Md., on Aug. 17.
